Visit the Fort Hoedic Virtual Reality During His State of the Nation 1873
Visit Hoedic's fort in virtual reality. Thanks to your time travel helmet, embodying the commander of the engineer Morin in 1873, during his inventory of the fortifications of the fort of Hoedic. From the control room, you can navigate through four points of view to discover the fort in its island context.
Designed at the beginning of the 19th century to replace the fortifications of Vauban and the Duke of Aiguillon, the fort of Hoedic was only built a half-century later, between 1846 and 1856, on plans which had hardly evolved since Vauban. The striped cannon, the "torpedo shell", make these fortifications immediately obsolete. Never busy, he was disarmed in 1875, downgraded in 1889, then sold by the domains to be demolished. The Hoedic fort was finally acquired in 1893, as a warehouse for the Goémon activity. The Littoral Conservatory became the owner in 1979. In October 2000, he was registered in the additional inventory of historic monuments.
This application is the result of a collaboration between Jeanne Simon, student of the National School of Architecture in Nantes and the Melvan association. It is a 3D reconstruction work of the Hoedic fort, now invaded by the brush. " Fort Hoedic VR " was then a moment of contemplation and discovery of the Hoedic Fort in 1873.
Application available with or without virtual reality headset.
