Localization in IEEE 802.11 WLAN networks by fingerprinting
The localization of mobile nodes in wireless communication networks is a common problem with numerous solutions in the literature.
In this project, an algorithm based on the idea of "fingerprinting" was implemented on a mobile platform. In the case of fingerprinting, numerous measured values are first determined in an offline phase and stored in a suitable format. In the online phase, localization can then be made by comparing current measured values and the previously generated data record by means of a similarity measure.
